Find out moreThis month saw the launch of 8 Regional Training Centres, with the first training taking place at our North London centre in Swiss Cottage last week. Following a successful 2014 pilot in Birmingham, in which we ran 8 courses over 2 terms and trained 166 people, we have now rolled out 7 more Regional Training Centres that will run training every term, and we plan to set up another 7 before the end of 2015.
Catch Up® Director, Julie Lawes, explains the reason behind Catch Up® setting up regional centres: “I’m delighted that we have set up more than half of our planned Regional Training Centres. Our aim is to enable schools to access regular Catch Up® training within travelling distance. That way, we train an increasing number of TAs who will have the skills to support many more struggling learners."
Trainer Clare Manghan ran the first course and reported very positive feedback: "It was a pleasure to deliver the Catch Up® Literacy and Catch Up® Numeracy training courses at the Swiss Cottage School Development and Research Centre in the London Borough of Camden. The excellent training facilities and high level of professionalism of the centre staff were commented on by attendees, and thoroughly supported yet another highly successful Catch Up® training course.”
