Find out moreThe recent Easter break provided a well-earned rest for the Catch Up® team after a busy Spring term! We have delivered more than 35 ‘Delivering Catch Up®’ training courses, welcoming over 400 attendees to the Catch Up® Community! In addition to this, we have been really pleased to deliver our ‘Review and Refresh’ sessions, which trainees have found very valuable!
As always, our Accredited Trainers visited some of our fantastic Regional Training Centres during the Spring term, as well as a number of schools and other venues across the UK. Courses took place in Yorkshire, Bedfordshire, Liverpool, London, Birmingham, Surrey, Leeds, Buckinghamshire, North Wales, Essex, Bristol, Norfolk, Durham and East Sussex, as well as several parts of Scotland! A really busy time!
One of our Accredited Trainers, Janet Sykes, has enjoyed delivering Catch Up® Literacy courses this term. Janet told us, “After battling through snow and road closures to get to training venues, it was lovely to have such warm welcomes and meet enthusiastic school staff”. She went on to tell us about one venue she visited this term. “As I entered the training room I saw that the tables were set out with wine glasses and chocolates! ‘This looks promising’, I thought, but my excitement was quickly dashed when the jugs of water arrived. We all enjoyed the chocolates and had a giggle about the wine glasses!’’
She shared some of her very positive evaluation comments with us. They included: ‘The course was thorough and just the right pace. The trainer was patient, approachable and explained everything clearly’; ‘The materials are really useful’; ‘This course has helped me to understand how to identify the specific areas of difficulty for struggling readers’; ‘We can carry this forward to help many of our pupils’.
Such positive experiences are echoed through the feedback we receive directly from other course attendees as well. Across all of our courses, the average trainee response to ‘How would you rate the training course overall?’ was 4.8 (with 1 being ‘poor’ and 5 being ‘excellent’)!
We were really pleased to receive these other positive comments over the Spring term:
‘I am raring to go!’
‘So glad I booked on’
‘Best course I’ve been on’
‘Really approachable trainers’
‘Just the resource I have been looking for!’
‘I feel excited and motivated’
‘This will make a real difference’
Our trainers and team are already organising and delivering courses for this Summer term! There are still spaces available, so have a look at our website (www.catchup.org) to find a course near you!
