6th December 2021 - Season's greetings from the Catch Up CEO

As 2021 draws to a close, it is a time of reflection for us all; of a year that has continued to challenge us at every turn. It has been a busy year for Catch Up®, and one in which I hope you feel that we have supported you in your work with those learners struggling with literacy and numeracy. The easiest way to get in touch remains the training@catchup.org email, as we continue our hybrid working model.

The online training courses have had excellent feedback. Thank you to everyone who has taken the time to share their views, as we do consider all comments, and they do inform our future actions.

The survey we recently conducted was incredibly informative and positive. Here is some of the amazing feedback about the impact of the Catch Up® interventions:

  • "After taking part in Catch Up, children are now at [the] appropriate stage of their learning with their peers within class."

  • "Increased confidence. Curiosity and interest. Enjoyment."

  • "Please implement Catch Up in your schools as it highlights the gaps in children’s learning and the filling of these gaps [is] so crucial to the outcome of their learning."

  • "Students enjoy both interventions which encourages them to attend. This regular attendance and the structured program [sic] have helped students gain confidence and close the gap."

  • "It is the best intervention I have used."

As we look into 2022, we are working hard to ensure that we continue to be as responsive as possible to the questions you pose.

We will also be pursuing our research into the effectiveness of the Catch Up® interventions in Early Years settings, and working with ‘What Works for Children’s Social Care’ to assess the impact of Catch Up® Literacy in a home setting. These are exciting developments for
Catch Up® as we remain focused upon our core mission of supporting as many struggling learners as possible.

I wish you all a restful and relaxing holiday season, and hope that your plans can be fulfilled.

With best wishes
Theresa
