What is Catch Up® Literacy – Supporting Reading?
Catch Up has developed a bespoke training course, based on the original Catch Up® Literacy intervention, to enable parents and carers to support their child’s reading skills in the home setting.
The training focuses on proven and positive strategies around how to share a reading book or text with a child, building their confidence and enjoyment when reading and supporting the improvement of their reading skills. These strategies are designed to be used with children who find reading challenging and are aged between 6 and 14 years.
The training takes place as a stand-alone, 3-hour live online course, facilitated by one of our Catch Up® Accredited Trainers.
Parents and carers who book to attend receive a training booklet, all the paperwork required, guidance on which books/texts to use and ongoing support from the Catch Up team.
