11th November 2024 - Two Fond Farewells

Joyce and Graham

We are very lucky here at Catch Up® to benefit from a very professional and dedicated team both in the office and the training rooms. The experience, care and knowledge of every team member is invaluable, which makes it even harder to bid a fond farewell when someone leaves us.

However, we understand that well-deserved retirements do beckon!

One of our wonderful Accredited Trainers, Joyce Hughes, has heard this call and embarked on an exciting new chapter. Joyce joined Catch Up® in 2012, delivering both Catch Up® Numeracy and Catch Up® Literacy training courses. We know many of you would have benefitted from attending training with Joyce, and we wish her all the best for a fabulous retirement.

The same call fell on another of our team’s ears this year! After 25 years of involvement with Catch Up®, our Deputy Director, Graham Sigley, has also decided to hang up his Catch Up® hat and look forward to many new adventures.

Graham has asked us to share this message with you all.

‘I have been involved with Catch Up® since 1999, initially supporting its development and as a trustee, and then working for Catch Up®. Over that time, it has been a professional delight to work with so many people who really want to make a difference for struggling learners. From the staff team, the Catch Up® Accredited Trainers and the school-based staff, everyone I have been involved with over the years has been so committed and so professional. Although retirement means I won’t be working for Catch Up®, it is great to know that Catch Up® will continue to change lives. I’ll also have more time for bee keeping and helping to train beekeepers, so, hopefully, I will still be making a difference through learning but in a very different way.'

Many of you will have spoken to or met Graham during his time at Catch Up®, and I’m sure you will all join us in wishing him a wonderful retirement, enjoying all it brings – including the bee keeping!
