When did you start working for Catch Up®?
Since 2008, firstly as a Catch Up® Accredited Trainer and then as Head of Training.
What were you doing before you worked for Catch Up®?
I was a Primary school teacher and member of a Senior Leadership Team for many years. During that time I also added working within initial teacher training as a mentor, tutor, trainer and assessor for both a Graduate Teacher programme and two SCITTs, which I was still involved with up until 2022 – so a very enjoyable 20 years of working with those training to be in the profession!
Tell us a little bit about what you do for Catch Up®?
As Head of Training, I work closely with the other Accredited Trainers and office team to ensure the Catch Up® integrated training and resource packages continue to support those using the interventions, and that the training courses are reviewed and updated to remain effective and current. I am always pleased to also answer trainee queries which come into our Catch Up® office related to the training, and seek out new ways to support our Catch Up® community.
What do you like best about working for Catch Up®?
It is a privilege to work with two evidence-based interventions that make a difference to learners who are struggling. Linking with those in school and hearing their amazing feedback of the progress made is always rewarding. The Catch Up® team is very dedicated and I look forward to working with them each day.
Give one interesting fact about yourself that might surprise people.
