Inspiring choices
The Catch Up® interventions can be used successfully by adults to support struggling learners in and through other settings.

Catch Up® has been pleased to work with virtual schools, foster agencies, local authorities, Uni Connect partnerships and parents to support even more learners with their literacy and numeracy skills.

Our standard Catch Up® Literacy and Catch Up® Numeracy training has been received by staff and student mentors from some of the Uni Connect partnerships in the UK which has enabled them to support struggling learners in local schools.

Please read here the project report from Inspiring Choices (York and North Yorkshire).
Parent and child reading
We have also trained staff from the Children’s Services department of a local authority to support struggling learners in both school and home settings.

In 2021 we were invited by ‘What Works for Children’s Social Care’ (WWCSC), now ‘Foundations, the What Works Centre for Children and Families’, to participate in a project training foster and kinship carers. The report from that project can be found here.

Following this collaboration, we have been pleased to develop a bespoke Catch Up® Literacy, 'Supporting Reading’ training package, for adults to support reading skills in a home setting.

To date we have been pleased to train foster carers, kinship carers and virtual school staff to support struggling learners to improve their reading skills, confidence and enjoyment of books.
